“The things we do are expressions of who we are and what we love and the impact we wish to make… most of the meaning and activity in our lives comes from the things we do for free.” Seth Godin 2008

Tablelands Folk Festival like most festivals in Australia depends on volunteers. Each year over 80 people generously contribute their time and skills to our local Festival to make it happenand have a ball doing it. A special benefit for working eight or more hours is an invitation to the Volunteers’ Party.

Sponsorship for Tablelands Folk FestivalSponsorship

Tablelands Folk Festival celebrates world-wide folk traditions through music, storytelling, circus, dance, and crafts. This valuable community event would appreciate your support. YFF invites long term partnerships with organisations and individuals that share the goals of social, cultural and environmental responsibility in the community. Sponsorship packages are now available.

Amateur Home-brew Competition

For several years now, the Tablelands and FNQ have responded to the challenge issued from our Townsville brewing friends about who can create the tastiest home brew beers. If you enjoy home brewing, then make sure you enter now!The challenge is on once again, and thanks to the support of Marlin Coast Home Brew Supplies at the Showgrounds Shopping Centre, and Blue Sky Brewery in Lake Street, Cairns, there are great prizes on offer. Saturday afternoon’s workshop, and judging, at Nick’s Swiss-Italian Restaurant, also offers you an entertaining chance to hear about the history and comedy associated with the ancient craft of beer making.
